Center on Shattuck Street
In 2021, LLB Architects completed a programming exercise for the Town of Littleton, including a study of space needs for the School Department, Parks & Recreation, Council on Aging, Town Administrator, Department of Building, Department of Finance, and LCTV studios. Our work included a comprehensive assessment of the existing multipurpose structure, the Shattuck Street Town Complex, among other site assessments. The study resulted in the identification of a new Elder and Human Services Center as the Town’s highest priority.
The outcome of our initial study was an in-depth review of space options for the Council on Aging, which involved a feasibility study for a new community building to serve both seniors and citizens of all ages. The building is located on the Shattuck Street campus, adjacent to other Town services. Our study resulted in the design of a new two-story, 16,000 SF facility to serve the community. The building includes administrative and outreach offices, social gathering space, a full kitchen, a multipurpose space for dining and activities, a fitness center with exercise equipment and a room for fitness classes, a billiards room, and two program rooms for arts, learning, and social activities.
