LLB wins two AIA RI design awards
J. Walter Wilson wins Merit Award in Adaptive Reuse/Renovation Category LLB Architects was recently awarded for the J. Walter Wilson project at Brown University. The award was announced yesterday, December 2nd, during the AIA Rhode Island Annual Design Awards Gala at Hotel Providence. An awards jury made up of members from the AIA Virginia chapter selected the project for its positive impact in the revitalization of the campus, given the many programmatic and site constraints. CBLS at the University of Rhode Island also awarded In addition to the J. Walter Wilson building, another LLB project was awarded by AIA Rhode Island. With a submission by the design architect, Payette, LLB was credited as associate architect on the new Center for Biotechnology and Life Sciences building at URI. The awards jury was very impressed with the project and it has recently been awarded LEED Gold certification, the first Gold building for URI.
