Greg Smolley expands firm’s practice into schools K-12

LLB Architects is excited to announce that Greg Smolley has joined the firm as principal, to expand the firm's practice area into schools K-12 and continue a steady path of growth since the office's founding in 1936.

Greg Smolley, AIA, AICP, REFP, LEED AP joins the firm with years of experience and expertise in public, private, and charter schools from K-12. Since his start in 1988, Greg has led numerous projects in the profession of architecture and historic restoration that span throughout New England and beyond. In addition to school projects, Greg also has experience within planning and legislative areas of the profession that have contributed to his disciplined and forward-thinking approach. Under his leadership, Greg has developed school projects that range from $3.5 to more than $90 million and are widely recognized as cost-effective, creative, and well-executed, while successfully meeting the needs and requirements of each project at hand. He has continuously presented regionally, nationally, and internationally on several topics of design, team building, and project delivery. Greg is currently an active member of the Boston Society of Architects, the American Institute of Architects, the Council of Educational Facilities Planners, and the American Institute of Certified Planners. He serves an important role in the MSBA School Security Working Group, Connecticut School Security Symposium, BSA K-12 Subcommittee, and other organizations.

    Greg joins three principals - Christian J. Ladds, AIA, LEED AP; Kathleen A. Bartels, AIA, LEED AP; and R. Drayton Fair, AIA, ALA, LEED AP - as the firm leadership team. The addition of a new leader in the firm gives LLB Architects the opportunity to continue to expand our practice, and in a market that continues to see growth and development.
