Exchange Street Open Studios

September 7, 2012 - On September 8 and 9, 2012 from 10 am to 4 pm more than 50 artists in five historic mills in the Exchange Street neighborhood of Pawtucket, Rhode Island will open their studios to the public during the city's celebration of the arts, the 14th Annual Pawtucket Arts Festival. We'll be at our offices, The Design Exchange at 161 Exchange Street along with several other designers and artists. The five mills participating in the open studios include:

  • Riverfront Lofts, 10 Exchange Court
  • The Design Exchange, 161 Exchange Street
  • Blackstone Studios, 163 Exchange Street
  • Mad Dog Studios, 65 Blackstone Avenue
  • Fountain Studios, 80 Fountain Street
Artists and designers that will exhibit at the Design Exchange will include Exchange Street Open Studios offers visitors the opportunity to:
  • View artwork
  • Visit working studios
  • Meet and talk with the artists
  • Purchase art directly from the artists
  • Enjoy other Pawtucket Art Festival events in the area
  • Discover Pawtucket, home of Slater Mill and the American Industrial Revolution
Art Calendar Magazine included Pawtucket on its list of the 10 most artist-friendly locations in the nation. Through the support of city government and community leaders, artists are flocking from across the country to establish their studios in the spacious mill buildings that formerly served the city's textile industry.

The mission of the Pawtucket Arts Festival is to promote the arts communities in the City of Pawtucket; and to enhance the quality of life of the residents of the city and the New England region by providing and supporting quality art and cultural events within the city, year-round.
